“I’m sorry! Please, whatever I did, it wasn’t my fault!”
“Agh, save it for the judge,” the guard ordered as he closed the cell door with a loud clank. He nudged the other guard on duty with him and mumbled, “Heh, always wanted to say that.”
The woman in her cell fell to her knees as she grasped the rusty metal bars encaging her with only one hand. Tears poured down her cheeks and soiled her tattered and overused jail gown as she muttered through quivering lips, “It’s not my fault…why did this happen..? This is wrong…everything was perfect…what did I do wrong..?”
Suddenly, the secured door at the end of the prison hall carelessly opened up. The two guards outside the woman’s cell jolted their attention to the entrance as a young girl skipped inside.
“Hey, not so fast!” a guard quickly stood up. “How’d you get in here, girly?” he peeked behind her i

The girl quietly groaned as she opened her eyes ever so slowly.
“Silverton? Are you okay?” Reever asked her as he noticed her awakening.
The room went silent as everyone watched what happened next. No one could; or even wanted to; believe their eyes. Everyone’s jaws dropped simultaneously as they watched the young girl lift her hand and weave her fingers through Reever’s spikey hair before pulling him down and locking her lips with his.
Honestly, it took everyone; especially Reever; a long time to react. The image they all were witnessing wasn’t near what they expected. Silverton, the sixteen year old, was actually kissing Reever…the twenty seven year old.
The girl pulled back, her hand sliding down to the back of his neck. She smiled a smile that Reever didn’t recognize; flirtatious yet mischievous.
Reever finally yanked her hand away and quickly stood up, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. “W-What the hell, Silverton? Why wou

"So, do you really think you're ready?" Kasami asks, looking a bit concerned.
"Yes, I should be alright." Maggie responds, sitting up in her bed.
I watch her, sitting in my designated chair now seated near the door. She looks confident in her decision, making me feel that she's telling the truth. I look back at Kasami, who is still staring at her, going over his own decision in his mind. I can understand why, considering that she just woke up from her coma last night. He'd rather not strain her with the facts of what has happened.
Yes, she woke up last night. What, do you think I'm gonna tell you what happens every moment of my life?
Well, then again, I guess I technically am. The night I fell asleep in here, which would of been the night before last, I didn't wake up until Maggie actually startled me awake. Yeah, so I guess you haven't missed anything...
"Goro, who are you referring to?" Maggie comments, an eyebrow raised.
I look back at her.
"Huh?" I answer.
She rolls her eyes

“Let’s go, Audre. Hold my hand,” I heard my brother’s muffled voice through the crowded marketplace. I quickly reached up and gripped his hand tightly, as if my very life depended on it; though I imagine he didn’t feel my hand holding very tightly at all.
We were making our way into town to get the necessary groceries to get our family by for the next week. This was usually a job for the butler, but my brother didn’t want me to spend too much time cooped up in our manor. My brother, Alexander, and I knew we’d quite literally have our hands full by the time we left town, considering we’d be hauling enough groceries to feed ourselves, our two sisters, our parents, our butler, and our nanny.
Horse-driven carriages clattered by through the rocky road. Merchants were chanting out things like, “Finest shoes you’ll ever wear!” and “Getcha fresh cabbages here! High quality hand cropped cabbages!” as my broth

"Now, when meeting the Commander, do not roll your eyes or give any hint of mockery, annoyance, or even distaste. You will call him Sir, nothing else unless he deems you to otherwise. Stand tall and if anything, stoic. The Commander hates when his men do not address him with respect." the lady in front of me preaches as she leads me down an elaborately decorated hall.
"I grasped that when I first heard about him." I comment without thinking.
Before I can blink, the lady turns around and slaps me across the face, the impact shocking to say the least. My eyes are wide, though I don't turn my head back to look at her, as my face is too numb.
"It's that kind of intolerance that the Commander despises most." she says, her voice cold.
Wow, I thought Anyola was harsh, this lady is fucking scary.
Without another word, she turns back around, continuing down the hall. I follow, not wanting anymore trouble. Another reason being that I don't want anyone to see me with a bright hand print printed r
